NFS get high credit rating from Barclaycard

Commissioned through Primal Systems in Sandbach, Cheshire, Nobel Fire Systems has completed the installation of two high pressure water mist systems for Barclaycard in its Northampton headquarters.
The Nobel fire suppression systems are installed in two separate areas of the building. One is sited in the back-up generator room and the other in the sub-station that houses the air conditioning chiller units.
Barclays realised that High Pressure Water Mist offers a better environmental alternative to water sprinklers while at the same time providing an efficient and highly dependable fire suppression system.
The benefits of water mist are created through the more efficient use of the available water supplies with nozzles designed to produce much smaller droplets of water, approximately 1/100th the size of those in sprinkler systems. This increases the surface area interface with the fire and so absorbs much higher levels of heat energy. In general, HP water mist fire protection systems will use only 10% of the water used by sprinklers, with the added advantage of also being able to cover larger floor areas
There is an increase in the minimum pressure requirements which tends to be around 100 bar. The resulting lower water demand reduces the size of water storage, enabling more efficient storage of required water supply with a much smaller floorspace footprint and results in decreased distribution pipe diameters. When installed, using sprinkler rules as a guide, like for like water mist can prove far more cost effective to install, with less water damage when called upon to deliver. All of which provides tangible cost savings together with important environmental benefits and reduced post discharge refurbishment costs.
The two systems were installed by Nobel’s specialist team of fitters in less than a week with minimal disruption. Both Primal Systems and Barclaycard have expressed total satisfaction with the installations, a case of Nobel Fire Systems achieving another high credit rating from a satisfied customer.
