Celtic Football Club Protect Server Room with Nobel’s Stat-X System
Celtic FC is one of the UK’s biggest and most successful football clubs. Their stadium, Celtic Park is the largest football stadium in Scotland and the club claims to have developed a huge global fan base in addition to its usual regular 60,000+ match day attendance.
No surprise then that a large proportion of the club’s business is carried out on-line, tickets, merchandise, forums, etc. With this in mind, the football club has a committed security policy and is registered to process personal information in terms of the Data Protection Act 1998.
To protect its critically important server room against the possibility of fire damage and any resultant downtime, Celtic has turned to the UK’s leading fire suppression specialists, Nobel Fire Systems. After close examination of the compact server room with an overall volume of 136.5m3, the Nobel technical team advised a Stat-X condensed aerosol system be installed.
Stat-X is a self-contained, environmentally friendly fire suppression system that requires no pipework or nozzles and each unit is sized for volume protection. The units are extremely compact, intensely efficient and cost effective to install. Because there is no pipework or nozzles involved in the installation, the aerosol fire extinguisher units are placed directly on or in the risk area being protected. On activation the aerosol remains in suspension for up to an hour, providing users with extended post fire security against potential re-ignition.
The Stat-X system is environmentally friendly, and represents an extremely cost effective alternative to traditional gas suppression systems. In most cases the system negates the need for integrity testing and as units are hermetically sealed, on-going life time maintenance costs are substantially reduced.
