Cath Kidston approves design by Nobel Fire Systems
Cath Kidston is one of the most influential and original design companies in the UK. The company has expanded rapidly in recent years and is now a unique, international life style brand known around the globe.
Headquarters is a five storey office block in London. In keeping with the brand, facilities are beautifully stylish and none more so than the staff restaurant with its traditional high vaulted ceiling and open spaces.
Perversely, when it came to installing the right fire suppression system within the restaurant kitchen it was this attention to detail and style that could have caused a problem.
Many traditional fire suppression systems require ugly pipework that either runs along walls and ceilings or alternatively has to be boxed in. These systems also tend to display cheap looking copper or brass plated nozzles that usually protrude through the kitchen’s extraction canopy.
Step forward Nobel Fire Systems and the award winning K-Series fire suppression system, the only system that was able to meet the aesthetic, functional and complete safety remit given by the ventilating contractors.
Nobel’s ‘K-Series’ fire protection systems are engineered to meet the specific individual requirements of the kitchen being protected. The systems are electronically controlled with no mechanical moving parts. In addition to this, ‘K-Series’ is the only system on the market that takes into consideration the risk beyond the entrance to the duct. Only the ‘K-Series’ can provide fire risk cover from the last nozzle at the extract plenum downstream along the entire length of the ductwork to the extract fan and/or point of extract to the external environment.
For Cath Kidston it was a natural fit, and the complete installation was carried out quickly and efficiently by Nobel’s own specialist installation team at the end of the Restaurant refurbishment fitout.
Ben Parker, Commercial Director of Nobel Fire Systems commented,
“To work with an international brand like Cath Kidston is a privilege and is a reflection of the dedication that we’ve put into creating our own unique and demanding brand values.
We’ve always believed that early fire detection and fast, effective suppression saves lives, plant and property. And it’s for that reason we offer a range of services from risk-based analysis, consultation and design, through to final installation. None of us can afford to be complacent when it comes to fire risk and safety issues because of the potentially devastating consequences”.
