Stat-X has been installed in hundreds of wind turbines around the world. The nacelle sits on top of the tower and contains the gear box, low and high-speed shafts, generator, controller, and brakes. The main causes of fires are lightning strikes. However, the gears can jam and brakes can fail, which can cause overheating and fires. Electrical cabinets in and around the wind turbine tower can also be protected by Stat-X.
