Booths Supermarket installs Nobel’s kitchen fire suppression system
The new 30,000 sq ft Booths supermarket in Hale Barns, Cheshire has installed a Nobel Fire Systems K-Series fire suppression system in the kitchen of its in-store café.
As a critical part of any commercial kitchen design must include that of fire protection, the kitchen project management team, SC Horsfield were aware that Nobel’s K-Series kitchen system with its ability to meet the most stringent fire protection requirements would meet all requirements while at the same time, maintaining the aesthetics provided by the rest of the high quality kitchen equipment.
Employing state of the art defence technology ‘Gas Generators’, the K-Series fire suppression system provides full protection to all the required cooking appliances, extract canopy and duct work. In the case of the Booths supermarket, all the pipework, nozzles, fire detection and controls have been installed in complete sympathy with the appearance, functionality and strict hygiene requirements of the café kitchen.
An additional benefit is that the electrical nature of the K-Series system ensures that all circuits can be fully monitored for fault conditions and therefore provides a distinct advantage over other ‘mechanical’ systems.
At Nobel the entire focus is on fire suppression technologies for special risk environments and the company has built a winning reputation within the global catering industry. Nobel believes passionately that early fire detection and fast effective suppression can save lives, and property. The company take pride in providing a seamless customer experience, from survey to installation, through to maintenance, ensuring all fire protection needs are catered for throughout the life cycle of the system.
The in-house design team and installation engineers ensure quality control is maximised and thousands of existing customers in the catering industry are testimony to the effectiveness of Nobel’s service and product capabilities.
Ben Parker, Commercial Director of Nobel Fire Systems commented, “Working with SC Horsfield on this project has been a pleasure. Their project management team knew exactly what was required and we were able to complete our part of the project seamlessly to ensure installation of the K-Series system happened on time and with minimum disruption to the rest of the kitchen build.
Our approach is one of early fire detection and fast, effective suppression saves lives, plant and property. That’s why we continue to develop a range of services from risk-based analysis, consultation and design, through to final installation”.
