Nobel Fire Systems helps protect UK’s 4th largest shopping centre
Eat Central; Merry Hill’s new dining experience was recently opened by celebrity chef James Martin. The stylish, modern environment contains 16 new eateries and overall, the Merry Hill shopping complex contains more than 300 stores/restaurants making it the fourth largest shopping centre in the UK.
The West Midlands design house, Francis Catering Equipment Ltd commissioned Nobel Fire Systems of Heywood to design and install the specialist fire suppression systems required by two of the new eateries, Harpers and Napoli.
While the style and food presentation of the two restaurants is somewhat different, there was complete unity in ensuring that the safety of both staff and customers is ensured by installing the best fire suppression system available in their respective ‘commercial’ kitchens. Working through Francis Catering, there was no compromise whatsoever when it came to the provision of a fire suppression system. The Francis Catering team didn’t want a system fitted that then jarred with the overall aesthetics of the kitchens and part of their brief was that ugly pipework and protruding nozzles manufactured in cheap looking copper or brass plating were not to be included on the menu.
Research showed that Nobel Fire Systems K-Series would meet all the aesthetic qualities required, and that Nobel Fire Systems already had an enviable reputation for product efficiency and levels of service within the catering industry. Another positive s far as the commissioning team was concerned was the fact that the chosen fire suppression system could be fitted quickly and efficiently by one of Nobel Fire Systems installation teams.
The Nobel Fire Systems K-Series is now in many of the UK’s and European leading commercial kitchens, underlining its ability to provide the right fire suppression answers to the most challenging situations. The K-Series fire protection systems are engineered to meet the specific individual requirements of the kitchen being protected and are only designed following a comprehensive risk assessment taking into account the requirement of successful fire suppression and a client’s interruption potential.
