Cadbury Cocoa House install Nobel Fire Systems
The first “Cadbury Cocoa House”, one of 60 scheduled for over the next two years has opened in the Bluewater Shopping Centre Centre, Essex. It’s aim is to bring back nostalgia to the high street by introducing affordable luxury across its menu of hot and chilled chocolate, Knickerbocker Glories, Welsh rarebit, bacon sandwiches and the like.
Bluewater is the UK’s second largest shopping centre employing 7,000 staff and serving more than 27 million visitors every year. And with those numbers in mind, Bluewater takes every conceivable fire suppression precaution with regards to the protection of people and assets.
The kitchen in the Cadbury Cocoa House was fitted by ventilation contractor, J Hazelton & Co and they contacted the UK’s leading fire suppression experts, Nobel Fire Systems to provide the optimum system for this application. As always, Nobel reacted immediately to the request and from initial enquiry to completion of work took less than 2 weeks.
While speed of installation was critical, Hazelton also required proven efficiency and cost effectiveness from the fire suppression system. Being fitted into a brand new kitchen environment, the ‘look’ of the system also needed to be aesthetically acceptable with no ugly pipework or protruding nozzles on show. In this respect, Nobel’s K-Series system excelled when compared with other available systems.
Nobel’s award winning K-Series is one of the UK’s premier wet chemicals kitchen fire suppression systems providing full protection to all cooking appliances, extract canopies and duct work. It’s a system that’s already installed in many of the UK’s and European leading commercial kitchens, and continues to underline its ability to provide the right fire suppression answers to the most challenging situations.
Nobel’s K-Series fire protection systems are engineered to meet the specific individual requirements of the kitchen being protected. The systems are electronically controlled with no mechanical moving parts. Installations comprise of one or a number of stainless steel cylinders, each containing a highly effective F class wet chemical liquid designed specifically for fast flame knock down and fire suppression. The low, near neutral pH value of the liquids ensures that there is no damage to the commercial kitchen appliances, and as a direct consequence of the efficiency of K-Series in limiting the volume of liquid required to control the situation, there is minimal clean-up requirements following discharge.
Every system is designed following a comprehensive risk assessment taking into account the requirement of successful fire suppression and a client’s interruption potential.
