Data Protection - Case Study

Cadbury House Hotel

Industry: Data Protection
Product: Condensed Aerosol System

Ecologically Safe

Critical server rooms at the ‘Doubletree by Hilton Cadbury House Hotel’ near Bristol have been protected against the risk of fire by the installation of Nobel Fire System’s Stat-X fire suppression product. The system has been fitted in two on-site server rooms, one of which is part of the worldwide “Hilton” room reservation system, giving guests the opportunity to book rooms and facilities directly with the hotel through the central Hilton website.

Stat-X is an innovative fire protection system that combines science and economics. It’s a superior, environmentally friendly fire suppressant that provides cost-effective installations for more challenging applications, particularly where space is at a premium. The system is based on aerosol technology owing its origins to space exploration programs and is a patented potassium-based aerosol that suppresses fire by chemically interfering with the free radicals of flame. Ecologically safe and ten times as effective as Halon replacements Stat-X has zero ozone depletion and no global warming potential. It requires no pressure vessels, manifolds, nozzles or pipe work, all factors which result in significant installation and maintenance savings.

Nobel installed the Stat-X system in two server rooms taking just three days to complete the work after consultation with the management team regarding the appropriate work schedule in order to restrict any potential disruption to an absolute minimum. The unmanned server rooms are now completely protected from potential fire risk with coincidence cross-zoned smoke detection and sirens/strobes for audio and visual awareness.
