Nobel fire system fitted in Rick Stein’s Fish & Chips, Falmouth

Nobel Fire Systems has fitted its K-Series kitchen fire suppression system in Rick & Jill Stein’s new 130 seat restaurant on Discovery Quay in Falmouth. The system was commissioned by Florigo Frying Solutions who have been producing frying ranges for over 50 years.
The new restaurant is Rick & Jill Stein’s first venture away from the Padstow area and the building has been completely overhauled to create a fabulous open plan kitchen and restaurant. The existing mezzanine floor has been transformed into an oyster bar serving fresh River Fal oysters and carefully selected wines.
The open aspect of the kitchen area required that any fire suppression system met the aesthetic qualities of the newly refurbished kitchen meeting the demanding appearance, functionality and hygiene criteria set out by the design team. Not surprisingly, they didn’t then want to compromise the look of the kitchen by fitting a fire suppression system that was at odds with the aesthetics. Systems that required ugly pipework to be boxed in or hidden, or those with nozzles protrude and manufactured in cheap looking copper or brass plating were immediately discounted.
Research showed that Nobel Fire Systems K-Series would meet all the aesthetic qualities required, and that the Company already had an enviable reputation for product efficiency and levels of service within the catering industry. Another positive as far as the commissioning team were concerned was the fact that the chosen fire suppression system could be fitted quickly and efficiently.
The Nobel Fire Systems K-Series is now fitted in many of the UK’s and European leading commercial kitchens, underlining its ability to provide the right fire suppression answers to the most challenging situations. As in the case of Rick Stein’s Fish & Chips restaurant, the K-Series fire protection systems are engineered to meet the specific individual requirements of the kitchen being protected. Every system is designed following a comprehensive risk assessment taking into account the requirement of successful fire suppression and a client’s interruption potential.
